The eCascadias, operating with tank-to-wheel 100% all-electric capability, are poised to reduce diesel fuel consumption by an impressive 150,000 liters (40,000 gallons) annually. This aligns with RCCB's broader initiative to cut carbon emissions by 30% by 2030.
The battery electric medium-duty truck is tailored for pick-up and delivery applications and is one of ten battery electric vehicles manufactured globally by Daimler Truck, the company said.

A network for fast charging of electric trucks is a key part of the transition to more sustainable heavy transportation. In Sweden, some 130 charging stations in total are planned to open in 2023 and 2024. The stations are operated by several different companies, and Volvo Trucks is one of the partners involved.
This is part of Daimler Truck's dual-track strategy involving both hydrogen and battery technologies and underscores the practicality of hydrogen fuel cells in long-haul transport, the company said.
The planned joint venture will manufacture battery cells for electric commercial vehicles and industrial applications.
