  The Minister earlier inaugurated the Electric Vehicle Mobility Centre of Excellence & Innovation set up at JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bengaluru campus (JSSATE-B), here. Patil said the INR 25,000 crore investment encompasses battery pack and cell manufacturing, component production, original equipment manufacturing (OEMs), and charging and testing infrastructure.

  

• US proposes USD 270,000 fine for joint venture GM battery plant

  Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) investigators examining the cause of a March explosion and fire at the Ultium Cells plant prompted the agency to issue 19 safety and health violations, 17 of them serious. OSHA inspectors found the company exposed workers to hazards by failing to train them on safety and emergency response procedures and did not comply with federal standards for personal protective equipment use.

• Bostik Showcases New Adhesives Range at The India Battery Show 2023

  Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Bostik, a leading global adhesive specialist will showcase its new Thermal Conductive Adhesives (TCA) range at the India Battery Show 2023 between October 4 and 6. The new range of TCA was a result of a collaboration between Bostik and Polytec PT, to address the challenge of thermal management in the latest Cell-to-Pack (CTP) battery design for e-mobility solutions.

  

• MCD to take EV charging infra to outskirts of Delhi

  The Municipal Corporation of Delhi plans to expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to outer areas such as Narela, Najafgarh, and Rohini. The aim is to address the insufficient EV infrastructure in these areas and encourage the adoption of EVs. The corporation has already allocated space for 584 charging stations, with 200 currently operational. In addition, MCD plans to establish EV charging hubs to incentivize cab aggregators to introduce more EV cabs. The corporation will assess the performance of existing charging stations before granting further permissions for new ones.
