Kia, South Korea's second-largest carmaker, said on Friday it will invest 38 trillion won (USD 28 billion) in future mobility solutions by 2028, while strengthening its gasoline hybrid vehicle lineup amid slowing sales of electric vehicles (EVs).

Kia's network strategy in India involves strengthening its sales and service touchpoints alike. Currently, Kia India has 337 Sales points, 350 Workshops, and 59 Certified Pre-owned outlets. Kia intends to increase its Certified Pre-owned network to 100 outlets by the end of 2024. Furthermore, the company also provides its after sales services through 54 Mobile Workshops for upcountry towns and 110 Service.
Hyundai Motor and Kia will voluntarily recall nearly 170,000 electric vehicles (EV) to address a software error in the charging system, the Korean government said on Thursday.
The traction motor core will be installed in Hyundai Motor Company and Kia’s first locally produced electric vehicles (Seltos class) in Europe from 2025 to 2034.
They will establish the ‘Hyundai Motor Group-KAIST On-Chip LiDAR Joint Research Lab’ at KAIST in Daejeon to develop LiDAR sensors for advanced autonomous vehicles. The lab aims to develop essential high-performance, compact on-chip sensors and new signal detection technology. On-chip sensors can reduce the size of LiDAR system compared to conventional methods and secure price competitiveness through mass production using semiconductor fabrication processes
The recall has been prompted by a potential error in the electronic oil pump controller, which may impact the performance of the electronic oil pump in the specified transmission variant, the South Korean automaker said in a statement.

Hyundai said it was pleased with the investigation closure and "is committed to proactively identifying and addressing potential safety issues." Kia did not comment.
